TMZ has reported that MCA (Adam Yauch) has died due to cancer. MCA has been battling cancer of the salivary gland since 2009 and it seems things took a turn for the worse when he was unable to attend the induction of the Beastie Boys into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Vondelpark plays lo-fi, downtempo, sun washed pop to listen to while you watch clouds float by. Enjoy…
Listen to Joy by Julian. Dark and twisted R&B for fans of the The Weeknd. To download, go to the Joy video page on youtube and check out the track info.
New Buke and Gase this May Day. Jump over to Pitchfork to listen to the first track released from the new album. Buke and Gase have an interesting stage set-up that employs custom-built instruments all of which Arone Dyer and Aron Sanchez play live. It’s amazing to watch these two people create so much dissonant, aggressive music without the aid of loops or additional people on stage.
Sigur Ros newsletter has just announced the new album “Valtari” is ready for pre-order. Basic packages include download only, cd or vinyl. Additional packages include exclusive t-shirts, prints and even a limited edition wool festival blanket.

We are sad to announce that due to several personal circumstances beyond our control, we have cancelled all upcoming tour dates in Eastern Europe. As we have never cancelled a tour in our 6-year existence as a band, this is a new experience for us—and not one we ever wish to repeat. We apologize to all the people that were planning on coming and had purchased tickets. We were truly excited for this tour, and believe us that it was not an easy decision to make. We also apologize to all the promoters that worked hard to make this tour happen. We wish things were different, but sometimes wishes are not reality.
Unfortunately, we are not sure when/if we will be able to make up these dates. This is because the other piece of news is that Arms and Sleepers will be going on an indefinite hiatus. While we (Max and Mirza) remain close friends and will continue making music together, we are not likely to play any shows for quite some time, or to put out releases. It is time for us to turn focus to other personal and professional aspirations, and perhaps even get back to making music only for ourselves, as we used to do in the past.
I don’t want to go into a long and emotional speech here, plus we’ll be posting a few more things in the coming months anyway. Very simply, we want to thank everyone that has supported us in any capacity over the years. We’ve made a lot of wonderful friends and unforgettable memories through music, and have been extremely lucky to be able to travel the world. This to us is priceless, and we thank all of you that were a part of that experience. I am sure that we will see some of you again, and I am sure that you’ll hear more music from us at some point. Right now, we just don’t know when that will be, and we are guessing it won’t be for a while.Much love,Max & Mirza
So while nothing is definite, we are quite positive that we will not be involved with any AAS operations for at least several years.
We’ll be discontinuing all sales of physical items from our Big Cartel online shop. We will, however, have links for other places where you can purchase our releases. We will also continue selling all albums and EPs as digital downloads, so you can still purchase those from us either via Big Cartel or Bandcamp.
For those who know us pretty well, you will still be able to find us in Boston—both of us will be full-time students for the next couple of years as we pursue MA and PhD degrees.
We thank you for your support and enthusiasm over the years. It’s been almost 6 years since we began this project, and it has been a life-changing experience for both of us. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love that you have shown for our music.
Please be well, and stay in touch.
